It was back to my native region in the Alps for this report on tourism, environment protection and how they (don't) go together.

A European Divorce With Children

In the German Saar region, close to the French border, I discovered how a divorce can be even more painful when the partners are of different nationalities, when there are children involved - and when German law applies. Many thanks to Marie Galimard-Geiss, who devoted us the better part of a day and allowed insight into her family's drama.



I am especially grateful to Hugues Wajnsztok, who did an excellent job on this as a cameraman as well as an editor.
The sound editing was done by Arnaud Riedinger, and he also did a pretty neat job.

Jobless in Germany

There is a harsh reality behind the new German Wirtschaftswunder: Whoever finds himself without a job in Europe's strongest economy is at risk of precarisation. I went to Berlin and Cologne to find out how it all fits together.

From coal pits in the Ruhr, clean energy

This report took me to Germany's Ruhr area, where caol mining is quickly becoming a thing of the past. At the same time, the region is taking the lead in exploiting geothermal energy - as though it were forever tied to energy from underground.
